The entire lower suite was con
verted into card roomi p.nd filled
with merry players during the
card season which was followed
by a vocal solo, "Somewhere a
Voice Is Calling," rendered by
Mrs. E. E. Paddock. She was
insistently applauded and re
sponded with "Sunshine,"' by
Carrie Jacobs Bond.
At taa time, the guests, about
60 in number, were seated at
daintily set small tables for ii

luncheon which concluded an
event that leaves many delimit
ful memories.

The Ladies' Circle of the
i Christisn church met at the home
;of Mrs. Quasdorf last Thursday
' afternoon and enjoyed a very
pleasant and profitable session,
concluding with light refreshments.

Then it is that Spring is with
us, and well we know it is com
ing and tha joy of anticipation
reigns supreme.
Hiking parties are seen return
ing with branches of pussy wil
low, buds of variotls kinds are
swelling and already some have
reached tha bursting point, and
coming rose petals are almost im
patient to scatter their fragrance
over the gardens.
The pass week brought forth a
deluge of valentine events both
large and imall, which were
keenly enjoyed, all club hostess
es observing the delightflul sea
son in their prstty deceptions,
etc.
The near approach of Washing
ton's birthday holds many inter
estlne features, and the flower
of "Knighthood" is expected to
be fullblown before this week
end or early the coming week.

management, and to her untiring
efforts the success of the evening
is largely due.

was cleared and turned over to
the Civic League, the beneficiary.
This being the first of a series
of entertainments, which will
embrace a variety of styles and
be given for the same cause, oth
ers will eagerly be watched for.
