LILLA SMITH Many of Independence regret to learn of the death of Mrs. Lilla Smith, at Portland, Monday. Mrs. Smith lived in this city for many years where she made many friends and her death came as a surprise to the people here. The interment was in the family burial ground at Amity, Wednes day morning. She was a membeer of the Eastern Star and the Ilebekahs and was a woman of noble charac ter.
