Misses Etta and Rose Schnellmadea business trip to Portland last week. Wm. Carpenter and son, John visited relatives in Dal las Monday. Mrs. Jacobs of West Salem was taken to the Salem hos pital last week suffering from a severe case of Neuralgia. Little Jesten Rowland of Oak Grove rides horse back where he attends school, a distance of about 12 miles in all, which is quite an under taking for a mere lad. Hairy, Lottie and Inez Landon, Oeo. Leeferand Bro thers of Salem have returned from a two weeks pleasure trip to '.he mountains and report a very enjoyable time. The Falls City Lumber Co has bought 100 cords of fir wood of A Shore who re cently sold his place here. B. I. Ferguson is erecting a small building where he will househis acetylene light ing plant which be is going to have installed in his residence. Geo. Mitty is working in the Salem P. Acuff has just com pleted a new chicken house where he expects to house 100 white leghorns this winter. Geo. Brunk is building a little shanty on his brothers ranch where he expects to batch this winter, Miss Flora Clement, who is teaohing ac Budwell, visit ed her mother last Saturday and Sunday.
