other day from Ourdane Hrothers
22,300 pounds, at eleven cents.
This is a fair price at this season
and much of the wool will have to
be sold at lower rates. Although
the McKiuley bill imposed three
cents extra tariff, wool is quoted

ly advocated a tariff for shutting
out goods made by "panper labor;"
and to bo consistent it ought to ad
vocate a tariff between tlie North
and the South in order that wages
in the North may be kept up to a
standard commensurate with A mer
jean ideas. But tho whole editorial
is a very weak attempt to apologize
for the manifest inability of the
tariff to keep wages high.
