Dufllcld, of Princeton college. Of the committee, Dps. Jfoore, Itrown and Dickey and Elders Day and Willson are known as liberals. They are Driggs' men, and favor a sweeping revision of tho church's standards of faith and practice, The others are conservatives, but since revision has been ordered they are for revision to a limited extent. They are against Dr, Uriggs. The working force of the committee is nuti Kriggs, and anti revision. Dr. Brown is abroad, and Lawyer Day is . Kick. Dr Dickey and Elder Willson are not in attendance at Spring Lake Beach. As the complementary creed is about complete in a tentative form,' It may ho supposed to reflect the opinions of the minority. This creed will go before the noxt gen eral assembly in Portland, Or., next May, It will not bo cost by litis committee in the mould of the Ypost W Creed, nor of tho Nicene creed. Such a creed as this is what Dr. Ililggs and his friends want. The committee is preparing a creed that will bo more like a syllabus of the Westminster confession, stating in general terms the dogmas of John Calvin, and set off into about twenty-four sections. It is possl bio that) before the eighty-one churches have done with this con census creed it may have lost both its Calvanialio character and Its sectional form. The committee is also engaged in revising the Apixstles' Creed. Presbyterian patents are required by the church to teach their chid ren the creed. Two phrases have become obnoxious to many Chris- tiaiM,and the hwt general afwembly MuggeUd ttrlk I ng them out. They are "lie descended Into hell" and "The holy Catholic church." When the, women who are now tweuty five and thirty years old were aged fifteen and twenty a goodly share of them treasured among their chief poHOHsions au "autograph album." This fad has gone out u nd the autograph albums have been laid on the shelf for years, ana iiow-a-anys only the poets and other great men are lie- sieged for their names. My school days' album came down the other day for dusting purposes, says a writer in the Kan. hus City Bar, aud I chanced nKn this line: "In Memory's jewel casket place one pearl for me." It was signed by one who is now the mother of five little freckle-faced boys and she is bringing them all up on a farm down in the country. I think tbat, pearl I placed for her is the only one the hard-working soul ever had. Over the page a smart boy varied the seutiment somewhat by writ ing: "In Memory's woodbox place one stick for me." As the smart boy's son has since gone to school to me I have had occasion to use tip this particular stick on him. "Forget me not, forget me never, I'lltll the aim ahull Set forever," wrote the little curly headed Ban gui whose sun set forever years ago; and the Saunders girl who used to quarrel with me regularly every recess, inscrited her name below the Hoes: ' . "May the world draw to an end Ere you forgvt your own true friend." The school teucl er, a tall, lanky woman who used to beat my palms with a hardwood ruler, wrote in a stiff hand: "The pen is mightier than the sword," and underneath this lino I found in my owuscrawly penmnuship: "And a ten-foot rule will lick both of them put to gether." One page touched my heart with "Your loving mother," aud on an other my Sunday school teacher bad written, as every Sunday- school teacher was wont to do at the time: In tho book of life, God' album, May your name be writ with care. But I lingered long over a smeary verse from Benjamin Dcn- nison. my first love, who had cour ageously signed his name to The rose la red, tho vllet's bluo, Shugger la aweet and no are you. Benjamlu has since married my deadly rival and the young Denni sons are nearly up to pa's shoulder, so 1 will close my album with a sigh. By Telegraph. A LI, CHU.I IS REJOICINU.
