B, PATTERSON, Druggist, said he had been In business in Independence for a number of years had witnessed the growth of the town from its Infancy almost, and could truly say that, In his opinion, It was on the high wsy to prosperity. Business was good this year, the best In the his tory of Independence. Jj. C. OILMOBE, Manager Independence Water Works, liked Oregon, and considered Jndepeii' denoe a flint-class town; had lately come from Texas, and not was fully acquainted with the wants of this country. DAVID CF.LW1CK, confectionary and cigar dealer, was well pleased With this seasons trade, and felt confident at to the future. BUSTER A LOCKE, Druggists, said business bad never been better; the outlook was very encourug ing, and, In their opinion, Indcpen ' denoe was rushing to tbo front at s . rapid rate. H. P.
