A While Nothing is Absolutely Certain, all Reports Indicate a Grand Republican Victory. They have voted—and the American people have decided, once for all, wheth er or not republican and American prin- plea shall triumph over monometalism 16 to 1, and states’ rights. The doubt lies wholly on the Bryan side, and pres ent reports place him so far in the rear that there is no reasonable doubt of the Miss., La., Ark., Montana, Idaho, Colo., Utah, Nev., Texas, Tenn., Va., Mo. Total electoral vote, 149. Doubtful states are Wyoming, Kansas, N. Carolina, Wn., Kentucky. The vote in Kentucky is so close that the official count will be required to fix the result either way. Locally, the election stands for protec- . tiou and sound money; the republicans NO. 33. Normal School Notes. What’s the matter with Bryafn? — Something surely is. Rae McIntire, of Ashland, has entered school. Still the roll grows longer. The “Oregon” bus w ill be run regu larly mornings in addition to the usual Normal bus. W anted .—Six pairs of side combs. Apply to Wyck Easter, of the Normal, before Saturday. Everyone seems to be pleased with the first issue of the “Students’ Intel lect,” which appeared Friday. One professor and a young lady teach er of the Normal are credited w ith six teen demerits each, for being out after twelve o’clock Saturday night. Carolina, Ga., Ala., Fla., MAIL ORDERS GIVEN PROMPT being in the majority by 37 ballots. ATTENTION The total vote of Ashland was 804. Jackson county cast her vote for Bryan, but the state has fallen into line, and gives the sound money candidates a plurality of 3,000. As the results of the general election now stand, the republican candidates herald the advance of prosperity. Pop ulism is no longer a live issue, and de mocracy can take a back seat and watch Eggs, Flour, Feed. Grain, results for a few' years at least.
