T. con- vention of Jackson county with a rep resentative number of earnest workers, eech season increasing in numbers and interest. Words of welcome and en couragement were much appreciated, more especially those from the “Good Citizens ” of Medford. We knew’ ere their words were spoken that our sisters had a warm welcome for us, but as we are so presumptions as to aspire to citi zenship ourselves, words of echo and sympathy, from our brothers; not only Minister of the Gospel, but from doctor, lawyer, and teacher, as well—which classes certainly represent the intelli gence of the community, did much to strengthen us for future work. It was the sense of the convention that a “good citizen ” would work, vote and prey, for “Home Protection ” you see it dabbles some in politics. and consequently against those manufactures w hich turn out criminals, and paupers, by the thousands. And now a personal question, for these poor victims of a legalized traffic are you brothers, w’hat will you answer when God demanded of you, Where is thy brother? Will his blood cry out against you?
