Ashland Annual City Election Meld Tuesday,
December 17.1895.

A great Republican landslide. The
most contention was manifested over
the marshalship. C. P. Jone», without
the use oi a drop of liquor or the pur­
chase* of a vote, despite the trickery of
his enemies, gained a victory of over
two to one over his rival, whose “life
lease on the luarshalship*’ seems to have
moat ingloriouslv expired.
