E ditor A dvkktiskb :
Last week were written a few items to
a certain editor of your citv for publica
tion. but f<»r some reason they were not
inserted. The items were merely the
news of our town and vicinity, telling of
what had lieen and what was transpir
ing, anti also the future prospects, etc.
One of the items referred to a little joke
—that is if you would call it one—which
occurred at the Methodist Church on the
evening of Mrs. Harford*« lecture here,
and 1 think if the editor made object ions
to such an item, he might object a little
more to w hat he writes himself. Say,
for instance, in the case of Manuel
Miller's son, wherein he entitles his
article as “A Well Developed Case of
Foolishness.” Yes, it was a case of
great foolishness, but not on the part of
the plaintiff, surely. He can boldly as
sert against teachers and preachers w ho
are endeavoring to instruct and teach
what is right, yet when he is asked to
insert an item written in a joking form,
he refuses it.
Yours res|Hs-tfully,
Mrs. A. S. Jacoba.
