The establishment of the iron foundry,
first mentioned in last week’s A dvbr -
tiser , is now certain. The promoters of
the enterprise are two gentlemen from

The contract for the erection of the
building has been let to H. C. Messenger,
and is to lie 35x35 feet, w ith a 16x16 feet
addition. It is to lx* built near the
Electric Power lloiiFr on Ashland creek.
The n»ad to Link ville is a go! The
Viewing committee went over to inspect
the old nmd last Friday, and is ex|xxte<|
home to-night. The Finance committee
it Going tine work and about |l,000 has
already tx-w-n Rubscrilied, while the hats
only alxmt half complete.
Medford is willing to aid in the mat­
ter. One merchant of that plain» stated
that he would give |5<> and that then are
other* there, of like dis|xiaition, so that
Medford will undoubtedly swell the list
two.
The Link ville people art* also desirous
of giving assistance, ami with the aid
from Portland, a neat little sum will lx»
avarable for the sjx*vdy realization of
the project.
The slate of affairs on the other rood,

Wells. Fargo Express Co., is regarded as
a point in favor of the new road.

BUNK-lluOE ROBBED.
The bunk-house of the section men,
near Win Littleton’s lioarding house,
just across the state line, in Cal., was
I r«>ken into and robbed alxiut noon last
Friday. A lout 1100 worth of things was
taken, including a |3^ suit of clothes,
made bv M. .Maver. of Ashland, a watch
and several pairs of shoes.
Then* is no clew to the identity of
the robbers.
MONEY IN FARMING.
It is a notable fact that all farming in­
terests improve where it is possible to
utilize the water that the wells on the
farm will produce. How few people
think of the value of water for irrigation,
and w hat could lx» produced at a mini­
mum cost if it wen» used. The question
has lxn»n heretofore how to get the water
to the surface economically, and this has
been accomplished by the use of Gaso­
