KutlinwiiiKin over the prospects of gelling together tire $50,0110 fund pro posed as a ineasiiro for making the Sacramento valley nolorioirs in the east, notorious that is for its fine crops and unlimited opportunities for money-making, was the distinguish ing feature of a meeting of the execu tive committee of the Haerairiento Valley Development association to day. Kcporls brought in by the direc tors of the association from valley points all gave assuranco that the fund will be filled up. Eight of the II counties in Superior California levied o two-cent tax as a contribu tion to the fund, which means in round numbers 1(1,(100, and the Northern Electric volunteered $10,- (100 more, making $20,000 in sigt. Other subscriptions have been prom ised since then, but the directors are keeping the names of (ho promises low for reasons of policy. Hut they say there's no doubt about corralling the whole amount and when it is cap tured a statement will be issued. The first steps toward a formal celebration of the arrival of a West ern Pacific train were taken. The time is getting short now, as the first train is promised for the middle of next month. Marshall Piggs, the chairman, was authorized to apwiiut a committee of fivo to en-opcrnto with the other civic organizations in the arrangements fr n celebration. Of Interest to Mothers. There is one subject which alwavs interests the mothers of young chil dren, and that is how to treat their coughs and colds, or to ward off n threatened attack of croup. For this purpose we can recommend Chamber lain's Cough Remedy. It always proves beneficial. In case of, croup it should bo given as soon as the croiipy cough appears, so as to pre vent the attack. Keep it nt hand ready for instant use. Many mothers do so, tmd it saves them much uneasi ness. For sale by Leon P. Ilaskins' Pharmacy. MEDFORD MARKETS. Fruit and v-qetables.
