This or chard consists of eight acres of 23-year-old Newtown Pippins, aud the trees arc now laden with the biggest crop on record, an estimated yield of 1 UOO boxes to the acre. From present indications this will net the owner from $15011 to $'2000 an acre. In 1907 the orchard produced 6500 boxes of Newtowns, which netted the owner $2.50 a box, or $16,000. WEYERHAEUSER MAY BUY CONTROL OF WEED COMPANY KLAMATH FALLS, Sept. 17. It is announced here that the. Weyer haeuser Timber company will take over the controlling interest in the Weed Lumber company. The Loug Bcll Lumber company at the present time holds the largest interest in the Weed company, and if satisfactory arrangements are made, the Weyer haeuser people will likely get the con trolling interest. There is a tract of about 40,000 acres of uncut timber in this holding, 'also the large manu facturing plant now located at Weed. It is stated that the Wever haeuser eompany has some understanding nilh J. J.
