GREAT BRITAIN ASKS
BRITAIN TO DROP OUT
LONDON, June 10. Great Britain
has aslcd America not to press her
claim for participation in tho nan-kovv-Sze
Chiien Railroad loan of
27,500,000 which British, Gorman
n iil French bankers stand ready to
take up. This request has been sent
to James llrvce, the British nmbassn
ibir at Washington.
Great Britain points out Hint the
arrangements for the loan were con
cluded alter the greatest difficulty,
entailing long negotiations between
tho British, German and Froneh
bankers and the Chinese government.
As America did not ask to join thoro-
I in. it was presumed that sho did not
itcsirc in take the share to which she
was eiitilled under the convention
with China.
