nouncing some changes in its pop
ular voting contest now ruiniiiity the
most noticeable being the prize trips
. which have been elaborated und ex
tended to larger and longer pleasure
tours. From the Fair trips,- the
prizes have been changed to trips to
Yellowstone I'ark, the wonderland of
America, and to the Yosemite valley,
the garden spot- of California:
There will be two trips to each
place, winning contestants having
their choice accor4ing to the num
ber of votes received. The highest
having first choice and so on down
the scale. '

Ground Broken in April.
It was on the first Monday in
April that the contractors broke the
first ground. Previous to thut a
fight over the source of supply had
enguged the attention of the city for
months and wns finally decided at
u municipal election, the water of
Little IJutto creek being accepted.
From the time that the first pick
struck the ground on the outskirts
of the city until now the work has
been carried on on a huge scale.

along tho route and by next Monday

prised by a proposal coming from
