progressive spirit of his home stuto,
was the first man through the big
gules of the Aluska-Yukou-Pucific
Exposition when the fair opened on
June 1.

Francis J. Honey will be u candidate
for district attorney, according to the
Cull. He will enter the fight, the
Cull says, as a Republican. Ha docs
not wish to become a candidate, but
he will rather than hnve the work of
the past three years nullified by the
election of a man opposed to the
graft prosecution. He snid yester
day: "Yes, I will be a candidate for dis
trict attorney if the right man is not
brought out with something like more
than reasonable assurance of his
election. I will not see the work of
the last three years thrown away.
And I will not stand idly by 'and sec
the thieves and crooks capture the
district attorney's office.
"I do not want to be a candidate
