Among the state officials mid legislators here it is generally believed that the governor will call a special session of the legislature to inquire into the (.'J-nonil situation regarding the af fairs of the state officers, which have been surrounded by much scandal of late. The first gun for a special session will be fired when the special lefris lative investigation committee files its report with the governor tomor row. The refusal of state Insurance (yimtnissioner Shively to resign, coup led with the announcement of his de termination to defy the legislative committee, will be the principal rea son for calling the legislature to gether. WOMEN RAIDS BAKERY AND SCATTERS BREAD NKW YOKK, May 13. Disorders incident to the bakers' strike, with women playing u leading part as they have mi several occasions recently, stirred the upper Ka.-l Side district today. More than a score of women invaded a bakery ou upper Park avenue and attacked the owner, Mrs. S Lena Siegel. Her stock of bread was thrown about the store and into the street. Much uneasi ness has been created here by the fact that during the last few days the government has made if' number of political arrests, searched the houses of vnrious suspects and adopted oth er precautionary measures. The au thorities mnintain the grottiest reti cence concerning these measures, which are variously attributed to the discovery of a plot or J he fear of a big republican demonstration to take advantage of the present political an archy in parliament. Hazelrigg has resigned' as director of the Medford band, i Those who have looked forward to, the concerts which formed a very important place in Medford's social events last summer and which were expected again this year, seem doom ed to disappointment, fur unless some thing is done soon there will he no baud and hence no Sunday afternoon concerts in the park. Mr. Hazelrigg states as his reason for resigning thafhe is too busy. He also stales that there is no money in it that the band is not a self-supporting organization, and (tint unless , this mutter is rectified he will be forced to leave the band. At the next meeting of the Com mercial club the band boys are plan ning to lake the matter up with the club and see what can be done to wards arranging for concerts this summer. PLANNING OUT ROUTE OF ROAD TO CRESENT CITY Ellas Ruud, Who Represents Syndi cate Contemplating Building New Railroad, Leaves for the Coast. Klias Ruud, the engineer who rep resents the syndicate that is planning to build a railroad from Medford to Crescent City, left at 4 o'clock Fri day morning on a trip over the pro posed route. Sam Graves, the Seat tle promoter who is to finance fhn surveys of the new line, has been de tained in Winnipeg by a law suit, but is expected here within a week. Mr. Ruud is consul ting engineer for a foreign syndicate of capitalists, who, it is reported, will fin an en the mad when the survey is completed.
