THE MEDFORD DAILY TRIBUNE, MEDFORD, OREGON, TUESDAY, MAY 11, 1909. THE BOSTON IDEAL CO. HOLOS WINNING HAND AT MEDFORD THEATER I huve discovered what PnBba Said. Pasha said ' But, really, it would not do to toll this early in the week, for there are many who doubtless prefer to find out for thomselvos. It is well. They will have a most enjoyable time do ing it, if they like a good laugh now and then. That now aifd then is used advisedly and does not refer to any now and thens whilo enjoying the performance, for to attend is to laugh, not intcnnittontly, but con tinuously and well. Last week the Boston Ideal Opera nompany, under the direction of F. W. Walters, scored a tremendous hit in "The Mascot." Their popularity was attested by the constantly in creasing houses that have attended each performance. They seem in a fair way to repeat Inst week's sua- have been introduced in Said Pasha. One of the chief drawing cards this week is the reappearance of Mrs. Haielrigg as Alti, queen of AI Inra. Mrs. Hazelrigg always delights her audienceR, and last evening sang in her customnry delightful manner. She was encored time and again and makes a very pleasing queen indeed. Mrs. Hazelrigg has lost none of her art by her long rest from active work upon the stage. Miss Irene Palmer as Serena, the daughter of the Pasha, repeated her is dainty and charming upon the stage and is proving a great favor ite with Medford audienaes. Her work shows a deep understanding and appreciation of her lines. She sings in a splendid voice and attracts much deserved applause. Burgess and Quisenbury intro duced many new laugh-making fea tures In the performance of last eve ning and are a whole show in them . selves, while F. W. Walters made a striking Mexican and sang as only Walters can sing. Louis Ballinger and H. Wellington, amateurs,' han dled themselves well, as they must do to make a showing among so many professionals. ' A chorus of six young ladies was introduced last evening and made an instant success, nlthough if crit icism mav be offered in a kindly spirit more rehearsing is needed in order to do nwny with certain awk ward angles which detract from their part in the production. After one or two weeks they will fill their part verv acceptably. "Three kines can anyone beat it?" queries the Pasha. "What a hand to draw to," re marks the Rajah. "Can anyone fill il?" question; Terrano. "Two Jacks," says Hadad, as he and Nocky appear. The which makes a "full house" or "twenty miles of railroad," as they say, the which may be tnken to mean that "Said Pasha" should draw people from 20 miles around to fill the house. The Boston Ideal company holds a winning hand. They are entitled to the chips. ," said Pasha. Go and get wise. X. Y. Z. ...... TRIBUNE WANT ADS BUSINESS PULLERS .
