AMUSEMENTS.
"Don Fulano."
The Bijou theater surpassed all pre
vious records for big attractions by
securing Don Fulauo, acknowledged by
all to be the most marvelous; horse in
the world. Dr. Ellis, the owner, has
from time to time been offered a small
fortune for this wonderful horse, but
no inducement in tho world could tempt
the master to part with his lifo com
panion and consoler, Don Fulano. The
noble little black beauty possesses a
brain of human intelligence, uud his
feats can bo Btyted as nothing loss than
marvelous.
Don Fulauo has known no other mas
ter thau Dr. Ellis, and is yet to feel
the sting of the whip. It was when
Don was a young colt that he first show
ed signs of human intelligence. One
day the doctor entered the stable, took
off his coat and bat as was hio custom,
and as ho was about to place them ono
tho regular hook, Don approached him
and, taking tho coat in hie mouth, plac
ed on the hook for his mastor. This
was Don't first exhibit of humnn in
telligence, aud day nfter day tho mas
ter worked with him, teaching him little
tricks to which the here readily re
sponded. Today Don is capablo of per
forming more than 500 tricks.
The Bijou theater lias been very
fortunate in securing Don Fulano for
all this week owing to a necessitated
stopover for the horso between Port-
laud uud San Fiancisco.

production and those who saw it could
not but be well pleased nnd satisfied.
A vory small house turned out, and a
great number of thoso who liko the
good things in rich; sparkling comedy
wore not present and of course missed
a treat. Tho acting was good and the
action light and breezy. Tho company
carried especially fine sot tings for the
