the paper, Caruso has not been separat

tie, Merrick and Wortman voting no,
Trowbridge and Kifert voting yes.
To Change Regulations.
There was introduced at tho mooting
an ordinance amending tho present or-
hnance regulating tho sale of liquor,
which provided for a license of $800 a
year instead of $100, and the removal of
all screens nit Sundays ho that police
officers could at all times secure a
view of tho interior of tho saloons from
the outside, in order to Btop nny sale
or liquor on .Sunday. Who is behind
the movement is not known, but the
matter was laid on the tablo for the
time being.
Mr. Moyer warns Council.
A. S. Mover, contractor, who built
the city hall, warned the council nut
to touch the roof of the city hall, as
had charge of it for three years, lie
also threatened to sue for payment if
balanco on his contract was not
forthcoming. His move grew out of
aa order by the council to have the
room on the city hall repaired.

The Police- Department
f'hief of Police Shearer reported 33
arrests during the month of October.

The chief asked for more wood for

attention to the many hoboes passing
through, giving the officers considerable
trouble.

the many complications in connection
with the settlement of the tribal rights
of many of the claimnnts. Tho allot
ment roll as not yet closed, und the
births among tho Indians are now ac

Citizens of Medford on Thursday by
a voto of olid to Ho or by a plurality

Little Butlc, according to tho proposi
tion submitted by 1. L. Hamilton. The
vote was upon the three propositions,

laku; onu by C. It. Ray for tho Con-
dor Water & Power company, and one

pressed himself as very much gratified
over the outcome. He stated that he
would now get to work and do every
thing in his power to get water into
Medford at the earliest possible date.
The first work to be undertaken will
be the survey to Little Butte. The en
gineer will stnrt on this immediately,
Mr. Hamilton states that as soon as
Uio pipeline is laid from titer eservolr
to the Prudshaw drop that he wilt lay
a temporary line at that point to the
ditch of the Fish lake company and sup
ply the city from that point until the
system is completed, cutting out Bear
reek as early as pjssiblo.

opera house Monday night to witness

wrestlers want to name. Ho wants ts
wrestle for gate money or purso and is
willing to mako a suitable side bet.
