a woman who called herself Alice Che
ney Drown, just ns she was preparing
to leave this city late yesterday with
the bonds in her possession. The wont
an was placed under arrest while the
was seated in the Denver train, but was
allowed to go after giving up the bonds

Kress Hotel company. The woman pur-
hased the bonds and paid her hotel
bill with checks on the Farmers Loan
and Trust company of New York, and
when the brokers became suspicions of
the checks thev telegraphed to New
York and learned that there was no
account in the nalik under the uomau
name.
The woman was traced to the Den
ver train, which was due to leave in
few minutes. She had gotten en the
tram bv inducing a woman to allow
r to carry a baby. Neither the brok
er! nor the hotel companv cared to
prosecute tho woman.
