DEER AND BEAR IN
OREAT NUMBERS KILLED
A Grnnts I'ass correspondent sums
up the sporting season as follows:
Both deer and bear are unusually
plentiful in the Jotophiuc county tiUMin
tains this season. Almost every hunter
that goes into the wilds returns with a
full bag. Kvon the novice has no dif
ficulty in killing the five deer I hat
the law allows. It is estimated that
over a.'iO deer have been killed this
son sun in the Bear Camp country alone
In this district also about 100 black
brown and cinnamon bear have beei
killed. Though there has been i
heavy slaughter of deer, the hunter
have had due regard for the game laws
and very few violations have occurred.
Most hunters have picked their gam.'
choosing only the full grown buck
and letting the does go. It is the gen
eral opinion of sportsmen that deei
tire becoming more plentiful in Joseph
inc county and this is atlrilmt-d to (In
present game laws aud their n force
luent.

AVe were quite sure that there would be no luck of buyers at the first Saturday night sale. The crowd came, it
saw and was conquered. It needed no microscope to discover the reinnrkable values. The merchandise was here,
exactly as we advertised it. The prices well, we on ly know that action began at the stroke of 7 o'clock bell
and continued unabated until closing time. One can bring a crowd with an offering of big values, but one won't
do business unless the prices match the advertisement. You know we did businesn. We have prepared for the
second after-supper sale with another great budget of bargains. We will see a large percentage of the peoplo
ivho came to the first, and a host of friends, because there has been much talk of the plums picked at the first sale.
So you had better come too. Another crop is ready for those who like to buy goods at retail, at less than most
stores pay wholesale. You can buy some of everything advertised below, but not all of any one thing.
