GRAVITY WATEE VERSUS ROGUE RIVER WATER
Medford in order to get unfiltered gravity water proposes to pay
from ij7"i,oii0 to $15(1,01)0 more than lUgiie river water and in addi
tion1 pay for the right of way, estimated to cost at least $011,000 more.
Pure tillered Uogue river water will cost from tH-V'"" $-'"V
nii !n than gravity water and Medford will get nil the pure water it
needs, but the revenue from tin- sale of surplus water not used by
Medford; outside of the city limit will belong to Hie Condor Water
A. Power company as payment for pumping charges.
If Medford gets all the pure water it needs, why should she object
to the surrounding farmers getting the benefit of the surplus water
for irrigation, thereby increasing their products unci the value of the
laud, especially when the farmer will pay for the pumping charges
and Aleut nril n liiismess men aim property owners reap
I lie increased prosperity of the surrounding country
the results of
THE FILTRATION SYSTEM.
The cost of filtration system is figured in the Condor Water &
Power company proposition.
Filtered Uur creek water will be purer than gravity water.
The Condor Water & Power company has been doing business in
Medford for some years and has never broken down yet or shut down
untie than a few minutes at a time.
As the Condor Water & Power company has three separate units
in its power plant, the chances are very remote of all three breaking
down at once.
THE MEDFORD MAIL. .
'Die Medford Mail has the habit of asking questions, but so far
is unfair enough to fail to publish full answers.
Will it. publish above information in answer to its questions ami
also Un following answers to its ipiistious of October "It
What is the difference what size or kind of pipe the Condor com
pany kj ifies in Its proposition, if the pipe will furnish more water
than the gravity system and last longer, especially when it will cost
at h iiHt ou,ouu less than the gravity system?
The Condor company prefers "I inch steel pipe for the following
reasons: First, because it will outlast wood pipe;' second, because
there will jr no frog ponds along the route of the pipeline, us thero
will be with wood pipe; third, beciniHe, if the property owners out
sido of Medford city limits are willing to pay the pumping charges,
thus relieving Medford of this expense, then Medford should be will
ing to build the pipeline, as it, will be added prosperity to Medford
and cost less than any other pure water supply.
Fourth hecause the ( 'oudar company wauls a -1 inch pipeline,
so it will at ford more water than Medford will line for some years to
come, that it may sell the surplus (outside of (he city limits) to pay
for t he pumping charges.
Fifth The growth of Medford, forced by the increased production
and value of the surrounding lauds, will be caused as a result of the
( 'ondor pipeline from lioguc river.
Pu in pi ug water from liogue river is the most econoinicnl way
of irrigating the surrounding country, owing to the varying eleva
tions of the laud.
No gravity ditches can supply this water on the foothills and high
lauds, besides no other source llinu Itogue river will supply enough
witter.

Anniversary
Months and months ago we began to plan fov. this event to buy special lots of
goods and to secure special concessions. We even ran a special money raising sale
in the summer months in order to procure money with which to pay cash for the
hew fall goods, thus procuring a u added discount, and last but not least, we mark
ed every dollar's worth of goods that arrived this fall at very close sale prices.
Since the sale commenced, we have gone through the stock, and wherever it was
possible have shaved the price. The results have been far in excess of our fondest
wishes in point of sales, but the stocks are still in first-class condition for choosing
and we invite you to come before Saturday and procure your needed supplies.
