on city matters, and we are not going to do so now. Thi.-
paner believes the Fish Lake Ditch proposition' is the host
one for the city to accept," warbles the delectable morning
paper.

After advocating statement No. 1, the Mail switched
against it and its legislative candidates were defeated in
the city by an average vote of 541 to 352. It supported
Judge Dunn, who lost Medford by a vote of 506 to 445. It
supported Sheriff Jackson, who lost the city by a vote of
(524 to 3!)0. It opposed Governor Chamberlain for the sen
ate; he had a plurality of 1 14 in Medford.
It is to laugh! "With such support no wonder there is
dismay from the thousand-hoofed cattle pastures of Little
Butte to the flooded trees of Fish Lake. "

docs the minstrels. Their fun is nut
urul, spontaneous and exhilarating, free
from rant and theatrics.
Undoubtedly tho best known nnd pop
ular minstrel organization before the
public today is Richards & Pringle's,
which appear at Angle's opera house
on Thursday, October 22.
Each year they bring a bran new
show, nod each yenr tho show seems a
little better than their previous visit.
