"Isle of Spice" at Ashland.
The "Isle of Spice," 11. H. Frazee's
piquant musical mixture, will be sreu
at the Ashland Opera house, Saturday
.veiling November 17. The costumes,
scenery, electrical and stage effects aro
all new, and the musical numbers aro
acknowledged to be the greatest of their
kind. It's a new version of the popu
lar musical extravaganze, and tho cast
is a collection of well known theatrical
celebrities, with a chorus whose fame is
synonutnous with the title of the com
t'dy. The critics of the country have
praised tho "Isle of Spice," until its
lame is second to none. The public,
which pays its good money to be enter
tained at tho theater, haft seen, marvel
ed and commended in pleasing terms.
Henry Ciunson, well known in Med ford,
is the lending tenor of the company.
SEARCHING FOR MEN
WHO HELD UP CAMP
CLEAR LAKE, Wash., Oct. 10.
Search is being made today for tho two
masked men who last night hold up
.ill men in the employ of the Clear Lake
Logging company.
.lust as tho men in the camp were
getting ready to turn in nt the hunk
hotise two masked men carrying luenvy
revolvers appeared nt tho door.
"Turn out here, yon fellows, nnd
come quick," was tho command of one,
ns ho leveled tho revolvers on tho mon
inside. Tho mon were forced to march
out of the hunkhouse in sigle file and
line np against the wall with their hands
pointing skyward.'
The holdups tVn selected two of tho
victims to go through tho pockets of
the .rest, whilo they stood back a few
feet with their guns covering the crowd.
One of the searchers attempted to over
look a watch in a friend' 's pocket nnd
was ordered to return nnd get it when
tho searchers had completed their job.
They wore then forced to deposit the
loot in a sack held by one of the ban
dits. The victims were then marched
inside the bunkhouse, the donr looked
and tho robbers disappeared in the
darkness.
In a few minutes on of the victims
started to notify the sheriff of Skagit
county nnd n posse was organized.
