NO INCREASED WAGES
AND NO DECREASE, EITHER
LOS ANGELES, Cal., July 28. Fol
lowing the announcement that there
would be no increase of rates nor de
crease in wages, the men at the shops
of the Santa Fe and Southern Pacific
are rejoicing.
The officials of the Southern Pacific
say the period of retrenchment has
passed and further increases of forces
will be made.
INCREASED DEMAND
REPORTED FOR R. R. V. CIGARS
Owing to the increased demand for
the. hand .made cigars manufactured
right here in Medford by the Co lei nun
Bros., under the name of the Rogue
River Valley Cigar Works, they have
been obliged to add another expert ci
gar maker to their little factory in the
old city hall building, which is busy
early and lute supplying the demands
of the critical smokers of the valley.
Every live cigar counter in Med ford
handles the R. R. V. goods and report
that they are good gel terse. Automatic
rending machines will be established
throughout the valley within a few
weeks, and they will use the R. R. V.
10c cigar exclusively.
