A. .Miller of Lebanon, wife of Senator
M. A. Miller of Linn cotinly, died at
her Uomo after an illness of several
inoni lis ' duration.
Mrs. Miller bud been ill for some time
with a cancerous growth, and reeMrily
underwent nu operation for the remov
al of the cancer at one of the Portland
hospitals. After the operation it was
thought that the condition of the pa
tient was such than en ultimate reeov-
ry would be possible, but the disease
had taken too firm u hold to bo des
t rnyed.
Senator Miller was a delegate to the
national democrat ie convention, where
he was elected national committeeman
for Oregon. He was called home ahead
of t he rest of his delegat ion by t he
illness of Mrs. Miller and was ut her
bedside when she died.

ment for the gunboats Vieksburg and
