one. has been in such a condition that
it is in imminent- danger of tumbling;
into the falls, putting tho county to an

place it, and blocking up this entrance
to Crater Lake park.

work on this structure has never been
done. Tne bridge is of the suspension
kind and when the wood gradnnlly
shrank the st:iy holts became so loose
that the truss braces were allowed to
slip out of place, giving no support to
the bridge, and swinging freely in mid
nir. As n result of this tre structure
has practically no support of any kind.
Tt leans perceptibly down stream and
nny day may see it plunging into tbe
river with whatever teams happen to
be od it at the time. To tighten up
these bolts would be but a few days'
work and would put the bridge in fair
ly good condition, but for months and
months nothing has been done.

district, and it is his duty to report
this, but so far as is known he never

in Monday ' Tribune, signed, ' ' A
Square Deal,' seeks to convey th im
pression that the First National bank
of Med ford is not a Med ford institu
tion. Referring to the First National,
the article in question says that "Mr.
Carter (of Oshland) and County Judge
Dunn run an auxiliary bank in Med
ford. " Again. "Mr. I wens ( repaid i
can candidate for commissioner) is a
stockholder in the Carter brink at Med
ford."
