Charter of the City of Medford. j
The People of the Citv of Medford do
ordain as follows: !
That Section 72 of an act of tho leg
islaturc of tho Stato of Oregon, en
titled, "An act to repeal an act en
titled, 'An net to reponl an act en
titled, "An act to incorporate tho town
of Medford, in Jackson county, Oregon,
and limiting its powers and defining
the duties of its officers," and to re
ponl an act entitled, "An act to incor
pom to tho town of Modford, in Jackson
county, Oregon, ' ' approved February

retary of state February 21, 18S9, and
all amendments thereof, nnd to incur
pornto tho City of Medford, In Jackson
county, Oregon, and to defino its pow
ers and duties, approved February fi.
1001, and to incorporato tho City of
Medford, in Jackson county, Oregon,
define its powers nnd duties, and to re
peal all acts and parts of acts in con
flict herewith," filed in the office of
the secretary of slate, February 7. 1!0.j,
as amended by the act nmendatory
thereof, filed in the office of the sec
retary of slate February 13, l!0."j, nnd
as further amended by the vote of the
people of Medford on .Tune 4, 1007, and
on March 17, litOs, be nnd the same is
hereby furl her amended by adding
thereto the following:
Subdivision P. In addition to the
foregoing warrants and bonds, as an
I horized in the preceding subdivisions
of this section, the said council is fur
ther authorized to borrow money on the
faith of the city, and for that purpose
to issue additional warrants and bonds
for the sole purpose of securing, furnish
ing and installing a gravity supply of
pure water for said city; but in the
event that said council shall elect to
secure, furnish nnd install a gravity sup
ply nf pure water as above nientionel
and shall issue warrants and bonds as
provided in t his subdivision for such
purpose, the total amount of warrants
and bonds so issued shall at no time ex
ceed the sum of $.100,000, in addition to
the warrants and bonds In the three pre
ceding subdivisions authorized, and in
the event that such warrants nnd bonds
shall be issued, such issue shall bo in
all respects subject to the provisions
and restrictions of Subdivision B of
this section, except as to the maximum
amount of such issue.
