Jackson county, spent Kriday afternoon i
in Mod ford.
Mr. Hoofer reports a recent eleanupj
of six and one half pounds of gold, val-
iod at about $H;ni, at the mill of tin- j
company. Itoth the cyanide plant and
mill are being operated with good re
sults. A large ipiaut ily of excellent
ore is being taken from the mine, which
is improving -steadily.
The property has been supplied with
a full complement of up to date machin
ery and prmuises to become one of the
best producers in the state.
MARION BIGGS RELEASED
AFTER TEN MONTHS IN JAIL
.Marion P. Higgs, convicted of subor
nation of perjury in connection with
the Oregon la ml -fraud cases, has been
released from tin Multnomah county
jail, having completed his sentence of
ten mon His, less oil days allowed for
good behavior. He paid ;i fine of $"no.
After being released he took the train
for his home at Priueville, where he
was at one time county judge.

The escapes scaled a high wall after

confederate inside the jail.
