The head camp offers a cash prize of

bringing the largest number of candi

badge to the neighbor securing the laig
est number of applications during this
campaign. In addition to these prizes
the local camps are offering several

is the first time in the history of the
local camp that the heal officers have
made an official visit en masse, and

union, an agreement has been drawn up
providing for a cut of one third in the
present acreage, and it is believed that
it sutlicieiit number of the growers of
the three states can be induced to make
the proposed reduction til the lilON out

from complete demoralization.
The California growers and union
members are the initiators of the latest
movement. Whether al the meeting to
be held the latter part of the month
they will be able to draw the Oregon
and Washington growers into line with
their views remains to be seen. It is

ditions in the hop market that it drastic
cut in I he acreage is a necessity.

1 have actively practiced law at this
bar for five years, and I think my rec

have had some tin cases before litis court

familiar with the practice of the court,

ra led by the taxpayers along this line.

weeks, which time I should have been

trict, I have been seriously indisposed,
due to an operation which was neces
sary to undergo; but I am attending to
business again and desire the support
of the republicans of the district.

votes in Jackson county, and I do not
feel that the showing was a discredit

The People of the Cily of Medford do
ordain as follows:
Thai Section 7-' of an act of the leg
islalure of the State of Oregon, en
tilled, "An act to repeal an act en
tilled, ' An act to repeal un act en
titled, "An act lo incorporate the town
of Medford, in Jackson county, Oregon,
and limiting its powers and defining the
duties of its officers," and to repeal
an act entitled, "An act to incorporate
the town of Medford, in Jackson conn
ty, Oregon," approved Feb r nary -4,

tary of state February 11, lSSS. and
all amendments I hereof , and to incor
porate the City of Medford, in Jackson
county, Oregon, and to define its pow
ers and duties, approved February 0,

all respects subject to the provisions
