cleaning out of its force employed in
the oar repair thopH here, laying off all
of tliA carpenters but H nekton and

There was a force of Hi. The remain
ing men are working five days in the
week and eight hours a day, and as
they are paid by the hour, their salary
is merely enough to hold them, ll is
slated by the men that there is no
doubt tho company would lay off every
man in the oarnhops were it not for
needing the remaining men to go out
on tho wrecker, for which they are
called every day or so. It is reported
that most of the ear work, or repairing,
that is absolutely necessary will be done
at Rod Itlulf for nwhilo at least.
