Methodist Episcopal Church, B Street.
The excellent meetings under the lea
dership of Rev. Van Marter and Pro
fessor Cray continue. Last Sabbath the
congregations were large. Jn the morn
ing the evangelist preached an inter
esting and edifying sermon on J no.
x:P. At night chairs had to be put
into the aisles to accommodate the
crowd. Teh large congregation listened
attentively to a sermon based on
"What Shall I Do Then With Jesus,
Who Is Called Christ?" A profound
impression followed the earnest presen
tation of t he trnt h by t he zealous
preacher. Last night 's sermon was
based on "And the If nil Shall Sweep
Away the Refuge of Lies." Isaiah,
xxviii:17. The preacher made tdain
the insecurity of the sinner's refugees.
Preaching every night this week. An
afternoon service every day at 2:30, ex
cepting Saturday. Everybody invited.
REFUSES APPLICATION
TO STOP STUB TRAIN
The Oregon railway commission baa j
refused an application of the Southern -Pacific
company for canceling of an'
order recently issued by the commission
requiring a stub train to be run from

the stub train is no longer necessary,
as the regular train now starts from
Koschurg and is always on time. The
commission held that as tho order had
frequently been violated by the. com

States genlogiral survey, or an increase
of about. Hi per cent over the record
breaking out put of 1110(1.
T,he production of Pacific anthracite
increased per cent to about M.j.Xlo,
000, the panic having no effect. The
production of bituminous coal increased
7 to It) per cent. In tl astern states
the panic caused such a decrease in pro
duction as to wipe out the increase of j
the first nine months. The total out-j
