Mrs. Joel Htover, an aged lady of
Gold Hill, died at her home Friday eve
ning. There was born to Mr. and Mrs.
Vance Wolmagott, in North Medford,
a baby boy at an early hour Saturday
morning. He weighs nine pounds. Moth
er and baby doing well,
J. 'C. Hall returned Saturday morn
ing from Grants J'ass, where he had
been on business for several days.

organization that needs no introduction

as at present constituted consists of
Aida Hemini, prima donna soprano; Ar
thur Cunningham, baritone; Kugene
Wiener, tenor.; Maude Heatty, contral
to; Daphne Pollard, soubrette; George
Kuukel, William Harris and Frank Her
trand, comedians. Al Wilder, -a -producer
who has earned a most splendid repu
tation in New York and elsewhere, com
ing direct to the San Francisco Opera
company ffom "The Karl and the
Girl" company, is the stage director
for the San Francisco Opera company, j
Kdouard von Huechner, who held down i
the conductor's chair at the Tivoli
opera house for some four years, is the
musical director. In addition to the
oeonlc mentioned above, there are such
clever utility people as Lillian Ray
mond, Fred Snook, "Gene" Ormonde,
Charles Browning and Dion McFadden.
The chorus is composed of beauties who

The Tovmaker" is a dainty, danc
ing, delightful comic opera, the story
of which concerns Johannus Guggen
heimer of Nurnberg, n maker of won-
lerful dolls, and his daughter Lisa,

filled to the brim and overflowing
with good, wholesome humor, nnd the
music is of the ear-tickling kind that

The bank owed Lodd & Tilton on Oc
tober 2K, $264j2. but on November 6
this debt had been paid to Ladd &
Tilton and the Title bank had a credit
with Lndd & Tilton of $6702. In this
time the Title bank transferred to Ladd
& Tilton $20,000 held to its credit by
the United States Mortgage & Trust
company of New York.
Hv these two transactions, How nnd
Ladd & Tilton took advantage of their
exclusive kuowledge that the bank had
failed nnd paid themselves 100 cents on
the dollar out of the bank; the deposi
tors will get but 30 or 40 or 50 cents,
as the case may be.
