Wo write SS instead.
Thus forming the equation
From Kl and SS.
There inn t any reaction,
lint the simple action, kiss.
For our purpose we shall use
Potassium Iodide,
And the simple element which is known
As sulphur, far and wide.
To make our theme more simple,
For the substances we'll write
Their svnihols, which mav truly
Give us the needed light. ;
Kl mav stand for the former,
For the latter, 8 be read;
Hut since two atoms are needed,
The first of these, as we shall see.
May not suit our reaction,
For it is nothing other than I
A fact of observation.
The second one will fit our case,
For at the very bottom,
In simple language, it is this:
To use up every atom.
And chemical act ion ne 'er ensues
(This is a settled fact)
Kxcept at insensible distances,
Or, in a simple word, contact.
Now, let us take two substances
To illustrate our theory,
Unless we give some proof of it,
We may be thought too weary.
A true equation satisfies
Two conditions, we've been told,
Hy him who explains everything,
Yet is not verv old.
