Young, a society woman of Butte,

took her to Nome. She disappeared
from Nome the same year, and John

Hlakely, received lettera regularly
from Nome purporting to be dictated
by Mrs. Johnson to a cousin.
Johnson came out from Nome on
three occasions, each time telling rel
atives In Butte that his wife was well
and happy, and that, navlng her

Butte to dispose or her property and
to get the money. The suspicions or
her relatives were aroused a year

There Is every reason to believe
that Mr. Harrlman had Intended
holding a conference with Krtttsen
nltt. Hood, Calvin, Herrln and oth
ers. It is not evident that the con
ference will be held and there Is no
statement from any one In authority
that It will not be held.
Harrlman has made no movement
to leave Pelican Bay, although It Is
reported that he Is to attend a re
ception at Medford. However, It Is
very probable that this will not he
the case unless he leaves Klamath
by way of Medford.
Practically" the only thing that Is
known In this city Is that he Is still
at the hay and that he has made no
move to leave any time soon. He is
attending to his business affairs ev
ery day and spends his leisure time
going fishing with members of

race riots, was Indicted for murder.
She has been out on bonds of $10,-
000 on other Indictments. She waa
arrested and denied bonds. Tonight
she committed suicide In tbe Jail.
Her hatred of negroes was due to
an attack upon her by a negro when
she was In her 'teens.
Abraham Raymer and Ernest
Humphreys were also Indicted for
murder In the lynching ot the negro
