The Cutting Blowpipe.
Tbe addition of a Jet of compressed

.tool for cutting Iron and steel. In
using the apparatus tbe metal to be cut

a very thin Jet of compressed oxygen.
This cut with (rreat rapidity, the aec

The best lmrdem-il ateel can thus be
cut with ease. Plates ten millimeters

From all the known facts astrono
mers have cow-rucied that tbe nucleus
of a comet Is merely a mass of meteors
easily dispersed into small groups or
distributed rndiwlly along the orbit
until eventually the couiot Is complete
ly dletntexnitt'd nnd cxttuxulimed. As
tronomical history oilers considerable
evidence In support of this hypothesis.
Blela's comet, discovered In 1820 and
carefully observed on each return,
spilt Into two parts and reappeared as
a curious double comet In 1840. When
it revisited tbe earth In 1852 the two
parts bad drifted away from each oth
er and were separated about 1.000,000
miles. 81nce then tbe comet has disap
peared. Every six and a half years the
earth crosses the track of that lost
oomet Meteoric showers then rain
upon us. In these meteors. we see all
that is now left of Blela's comet. Simi
larly, the great comet of 18S2 literally
lost Its head by breaking into four por
tions, each of which will some day
form a separate comet. Another link

Page Standard Farm Fence haa been In ase in Southern Oregon for several years and your most conservative

fence haa established beyond successful contradiction ita title aa lb best fence In the world.
Page fence wire, made in the company's own mills, is more than twice aa strong aa commonfenca wire and Is
of the finest higb carbon soring steel. No other factory In tbe world makes such fence wire.
Page lence Is woven on a loom like a gigantic piece ol sloth and la one solid fabric (rom end to end, every
horizontal wire being a coiled steel spring.
Page standard farm fence Is the only fencrmade that does not require a barbed wira over tb fence V) protect
