As foreshadowed in the latest news obtainable as Tno Mail went to presB last week the jury iu tbe Williamson-Uesner-Iliggs case failed to agree upon a verdiot. On tbe last several ballots tho jury stood six to six upon the question of tbe conviction of all three defendants. It is reported that for the first two ballotB seven of tbe jurors were for conviction and five were for aoqulttal, but on tbe third vote another member of the sworn twelve was seoured for the portion holding out for aoqn ittal, and the vote thereafter stood six to six, and a deadlook resulted.
