W. H. Lee, of Santa Rosa, Culif., was
a Medford visitor Saturday. The gentle
man is head representative of the Bill
Posters' Association and was here inci
dentally upon that business, but more
particularly to visit the Halley boys,
who are old-time friends of bis.
Mrs. Nellie Neweome, of Oakland,
Calif., is in Medford upon a visit to our
good townsman, Frank King, and fam
ily. Mr. Neweome, husband of tbe
lady named, is superintendent of tbe
Southern Pacific Company a). Oakland
Lester Ch lids returned from Seleig-
man. Arizona, Tuesday evening, where
be has been employed on the Santa Fe
railroad. He says there are twelve,

N. e E. Graves, a former mining man
and engli ear in the Applegate country,
was in Medford this week upon busi

friends. He Is now residing at Yreka
where he is doing mining engineering
and is also opening up a good quartz
proposition which he owns.
Harvey Richardson, of Trail, was in
Medford last Saturday. The gentleman
informed a Mail representative tbu

law and that the legality of tbe issue
would be contested. He doesn't say
who would do the contesting but in all

of the Southern Pacific company and is

now hunting the Pacific coast over for
a suitable place in which to locate, not
for the practice of law, but for tbe en
