office, Misses Mao Merriman and Letha
Hardin, aro obliging always, and at
tentive to patrons. Up one side and

with which to erect a 10x40 foot frame
building, with corrugated covering, the
same to bo used for mercantile purposes.
The title to this property is still un
settled and litigation is now on in tho
Jackson County courts. Whioh ever
way the case is decided it is quite prob
able an appeal will be taken, and prob
ably a year's tlmo, perhaps moro, will
be required In getting the title straight
ened out. While this unsettled condi
tion holds out no permanent structures
will bo erected thereon.

organization of a lodge of the Fraternal
Union of America, which, organization
was effected on June 9th, upon which
date the following officers were elected:
Fraternal master, W. H. Hembree;
secretary, Mrs. L. A.Jordan; treasurer,
Mrs. Jano Gilbert; Justice, Mrs. Martha
D. Johnson; Mercy, Mrs. Mao Hombreo;
Truth, Bessie Johnson. The lodge
meets every Saturday evening, at eight
,'clock, in Foresters hall. This is
both a beneficiary and fraternal order
and both women and men are eligible
to become members. It has twenty
members In Medford, and it was organ
ized by Mrs. Hayes, of Ashland, state
