B. F. Fredenburg, of Big Butte, was
in the city yesterday. The gentleman
has recently moved his family to Eagle

Mrs. Eli Williams and sons, Lloyd
and Walter, of Oregon City, arrived In
Medford Wednesday, en route to Big
Bu'te whither they go to visit. Mrs.

Miss Pearl Webb reached home
Wi)dneeday from her quite lengthy visit
at Dcs Moines, Iowa. She has been
visiting friends at Portland, Albany

"Prof. L. A. Stocking, principal of
the Central Point schools, was in Med
ford Saturday upon business. The
gentleman reports that the pupils in
all departments of the school are doing
excellent work.
. Albert Phillips, of Trail, was a Med
lord visitor Monday, and from this date
on he wiil get all the news of the county
from the columns of The Mail. -He
has rented Benj. Baker's farm, Mr. B.
having moved to Medford . '
L. McLellan, who, a few years ago
was proprietor of the Medford steam
laundry, is in Medford this week upon
a visit to bis old-time acquaintances,
Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Drisco. He is now
in the employ of the O. R. & N. Com
pany. Fred Slagle left Monday evening for
Soeeburg,- Willamette valley points
and possibly to the Sound. He is out
looking up a desirable location for his
business, that of merchant talloriog

J. E. Medley, of Oakland, Oregon- is
in Medford upon a visit to his brother-in-law,
R. T. King, the gentleman who
purchased the Ritter place, just west
Of Medford. Mr. Medley likes our
.country immensely well even better,
-we imagine, than the Immense turkey
fields of Douglas County.
: Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Fitzgerald and
daughter, Miss Inez, left Monday even
ing for their old home at Hutchinson,
Kansas, where they expect to reside
permanently. These are good, honest,
congenial citizens and their going is a
source of much regret by their Jackson
County fi-lends.
P. Olson and family, of Central
Point, were in Medford Tuesday upon
business. Mr. Olson lives juet outside
the city limits of Central Point, and
has but recently added to bis landed
Sossessions by the purchase of the
lat Hurst property. Ho is a genial
'fellow to meet and his friends are all

left Medford Monday evening for a
