take top honors

hotographers across the Inland Northwest cap-
tured agricultural life in their entries in the an-
nual Spokane Ag Expo and Pacific Northwest
Farm Forum Photo Contest.
Organizers asked entrants to submit photos depict-
ing agriculture in the region. Judges considered the
theme, composition and creativity.

tographer changed the point of view and captured it
from a low angle, and that the wheat was silhouetted
against the late afternoon sky.”
Janina McBride of Spokane, won second place
and director’s choice in the youth category with
“Farmhouse.”
Avery Hughes of Newman Lake, Wash., won third
place with “Corn Leaf Perspective.”
Audrey Esvelt of Rice, Wash., won Greater Spo-
kane Incorporated’s Choice with “Back Side View.”
Honorable mentions went to Hughes for “It’s a
Baaaaad Day!” and Gabrielle Earley of Deer Park,
Wash., for “Window into a Horse’s Soul.”
