Agrium will offer its innovative
products at this year’s Expo
Available this year is ESN — nitrogen with controlled release technology

Agrium, a producer of in-
novative fertilizer and seed
and crop protection prod-
ucts, will be at the Linn
County Fairgrounds during
the three days of the Willa-
mette Valley Ag Expo.
One of Agrium’s more
notable products makes the
company’s booth a natural
stop this year.
There, Agrium represen-
tatives will be talking about
the company’s proprietary
ESN — Environmentally
Smart Nitrogen — a poly-
mer-coated nitrogen fertil-
izer that Agrium says “will
improve nitrogen-use effi-
ciency ... by controlled-re-
lease technology.”

mote ESN as a “nitro-
gen buffet” that is “Open
24/7” to “give nitrogen
to crops when it’s needed
most.”
ESN is a urea granule
coated with a flexible poly-
mer coating designed to
allow moisture to diffuse
into the granule and create a
constant release of nitrogen.
Agrium has its U.S.
headquarters in Denver.

Smallwood listed four ben-
efits of applying the con-
trolled-release product to
fall and spring crops.
ESN, he said, has a wid-
er application window than
other fertilizers, is easy to
blend, increases yields and
reduces nitrogen loss.

Events Center at the Expo.
