AGRONOMY OPERATIONS MANAGER: Pratum Coop- a grower owned cooperative is look- ing for an Operations Man- ager for its Agronomy Divi- sion. This position reports to the Agronomy Division Manager and will have di- rect supervision over Salem, OR. location, as well as involvement managing other locations. The Agron- omy division of Pratum Coop has been experienc- ing rapid growth over the last five years during which it has opened two new state of the art agronomy centers supplying dry and liquid fer- tilizers as well as crop pro- tection chemicals to the mid-Willamette Valley. This position will be responsible for supervising and schedul- ing the blending of dry and wet fertilizers, managing the up-time and disposition of tenders, spreaders and oth- er specialized delivery equipment and for manag- ing the operations. This is a seasonal business with the heavier work load occurring in the spring and the fall. The ideal candidate will have the following skills: 1). 5-10 years of progres- sive experience managing a fertilizer blending operation and/ or warehouse with at least 3 years of supervising employees. 2). Very knowledgeable in blending software (Agvance is a plus). 3). A thorough understand- ing of the state and federal rules and regulations relat- ed to sale and transport of fertilizers and crop protec- tion chemicals. 4). Outstanding customer service skills- our cus- tomers are our owners. 5). Ability to handle and pri- oritize multiple and conflict- ing objectives. 6). Proven ability to manage rolling stock and other Ag related equipment. 7). Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to advocate a position for customers or vendors.
