Proficiency Awards are based on the members
Supervised Agriculture Experience projects. Students
must complete a 22-page application that includes
the size and scope of their project and how it has
expanded and grown over time. Members must
complete performance reviews, include pictures of
their projects, a resume, income-and-expense
statement and balance sheets for their projects. They
are recognized in the area of entrepreneurship or
placement, depending on how their project is
structured.

Bobby Hanson of Chelan High School FFA was
selected District VII Star Farmer. He also received the
District VII Diversified Agricultural Production
Proficiency Award and the District VII Outstanding
Senior Member Scholarship. His SAE project involves
three sows he breeds, nine Boer does and one Boer
buck he raises and sells commercial and show meat
goats, 24 laying hens from which he sells eggs and
14 acres of grass and alfalfa hay.

1980 District VII Star Farmer, Rod Cool was the District Star
Farmer in 1982 and Tucker Cool received the Star Farmer in
2009 and Sammi Jo Cool in 2011. Cameron Cavadini from
Bridgeport was awarded the District Star Award in 2013
and his father, Dan Cavadini, received it in 1991.)
State FFA Degree Applications were also evaluated. To
qualify for the State FFA Degree, members have to meet a
minimum set of standards:
The Chelan FFA had nine State FFA Degree Candidates:
Bobby Hanson (District Star Farmer), Jesus Flores, Hayden
Habich, Fausto Vieyra, Rhiannon Davis, Clayton Kimsey,
Luiz Ordaz, Cris Lloyd and Alexander Diaz.
