“Movie: Sonic the Hedgehog 2”
This 2022 sequel to the 2020 hit “Sonic
the Hedgehog” picks up the animated
adventure eight months after the first film,
which ended with Sonic (voiced by Ben
Schwartz) defeating the evil Dr. Robotnik
(Jim Carrey). The new story follows Sonic
in another fight with Robotnik, who has
returned with a new villainous sidekick
(Idris Elba). James Marsden and Tika
Sumpter also star.
“Post Malone: Runaway”
Filmed pre-pandemic in September 2019,
this documentary from first-time filmmaker
Hector Dockrill captures the rapper born
Austin Richard Post — aka Post Malone —
in the midst of his 37-stop North American
tour and includes exclusive backstage access,
live performances, intimate interviews and
a peek into the Grammy-nominated artist’s
world. (ORIGINAL)
“Sprung”
Garret Dillahunt (“Fear the Walking Dead,”
“Raising Hope”) stars in this comedy series
as Jack, a convict just released from prison
because of the pandemic, who must shelter
in place with other former inmates and
band together to use their criminal expertise
for good. Kate Walsh, Clare Gillies and
Martha Plimpton also star. (ORIGINAL)
“Movie: Mamma Mia!”
The musical inspired by the songs of
ABBA makes for a very entertaining
movie, enhanced by lovely Greek locations.
Amanda Seyfried plays a young bride-to-be
who wants to know her father’s identity
before she walks down the aisle. Her mother
(Meryl Streep) isn’t much help with that, so
she invites the likeliest candidates (Pierce
Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgard) to
the nuptials.
