To start, visit the Union County Chamber of Commerce, 207 Depot St., from 4-7 p.m. to purchase a commemo- rative tumbler for $10. The walk includes at least 25 busi- nesses, plus pop-up vendors who set up in front of the chamber on Depot Street, which is closed for the evening. HEAD TO SUMPTER FOR THE YEAR’S LAST FLEA MARKET SUMPTER — Labor Day weekend marks the fi nal fl ea market for the year in Sumpter, which welcomes vendors to set up along the main street and the fairgrounds. Also, Sumpter Valley Railroad will off er short runs from the Sumpter Station on Saturday and Sunday at 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Sunday follows that sched- ule, plus an earlier ride at 11 a.m. Tickets are $18 adults, $15 military/seniors; $11 ages 3-17. Sept. 3 also features a Wine and Cheese Train for ages 21 and older. It is sponsored by Copper Belt Winery and The Cheese Fairy. The train leaves McEwen at 6 p.m. Fare is $60. Gates open at 11 a.m. at the Wallowa County Fairgrounds, 668 NW First St., Enter- prise. Tickets are $25 at the gate or $20 in advance at Joseph Hardware, The Bookloft, M. Crow, or the event website. Admission is free for ages 12 and younger with a ticketed adult. Camping available for $10 per night at the fairgrounds with a festival ticket. In the morning, award-winning songwriter Tracy Spring will teach a songwriting work- shop from 10-11:30 a.m. at The Woodshed, 705 S. River St., Enterprise, OR. Cost is $20. Spring was recently on staff at the Puget Sound Guitar Workshop and has long includ- ed teaching among her musical endeavors. She will cover various aspects of a song that make it compelling (lyrics, melodic line, chord structure and content). ANNUAL STEAK FEED IS SEPT. 3 IN RICHLAND RICHLAND — The Eagle Valley Grange’s 47th annual steak feed is Saturday, Sept. 3, WALLA WALLA — The Walla Walla Fair & Frontier Days runs Aug. 31-Sept. 4 at 363 Orchard St. Admission is $12 for adults or $7 for children and seniors. With a theme of “Comin’ in Hot,” the event parade is Saturday, Sept. 3, 10 a.m. Also, a classic car show revs up Sept. 2-3. And motorcycles hog the limelight Sunday, Sept. 4.
