In 2019, The City of La Grande Completed a Housing Needs Analysis (HNA), which found that La Grande has a shortage of needed housing, with a predicted need for 795 new dwelling units over the next 20 years. This includes a need for 336 single family dwelling units, 115 duplex units, 200 multi family dwelling units and 144 other group housing dwelling units. Since early 2020, The Planning Commission has con- sidered 28 bed and breakfast inn applications, which has resulted in the conversion and removal/loss of 20 full time dwellings from the City’s housing inventory. PUBLIC HEARINGS: The La Grande City Council will hold a Public Hearing on September 7, 2022, at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers at 1000 Adams Avenue, La Grande, Oregon. The City Council will be considering the proposed temporary moratorium on Bed & Breakfast Inn and First Reading of the Ordinance.
