ington Elections Officer received a ballot title for a measure referred
by the City of Huntington City Council to voters at the November 8,
2022, election. Any elector may file a petition to review of the ballot
title with Baker County Circuit Court no later than 5:00 p.m. on August

Caption: Prohibits psilocybin-related businesses within Huntington.
Question: Shall Huntington prohibit psilocybin-related businesses in
Huntington?
Summary Statement: In November 2020, Ballot Measure 109 was
passed by the electors of Oregon. Measure 109 (codified at ORS
Chapter 475A) allows manufacture, distribution and possession of
psilocybin-producing mushroom and fungi products for individuals
over the age of 21.
State law provides that a City Council may adopt an ordinance to be
referred to the voters to prohibit the establishment of any of those
registered or licensed activities.
Approval of this measure would ban the establishment and operation
of psilocybin product manufacturers and/or psilocybin service centers
within the area subject to the jurisdiction of the City of Huntington.

YOUR BIRTHDAY by Stella Wilder
Born today, you may fool a great many
people into thinking you are not a Leo native,
especially when you choose to ignore impor-
tant events or issues. These are not classical
Leo traits -- but they are surely a part of your
makeup, for good or ill. Perhaps, however,
there is a very Leonine reason for being this
way. You tend to become rather single-mind-
ed and myopic when engaged in something
that you enjoy or feel is important, at the
expense of those other things to which you
should also be paying attention.
THURSDAY, AUGUST 11
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22) -- You have plenty
of room to experiment today, but take care
you don’t try something you already know is
not for you.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22) -- Disagreement
need not be feared or avoided today. In fact,
you may want to encourage it in order to
102 Public Notices
promote the examination of a certain issue.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22) -- The more you
can synchronize your efforts with another’s,
the better. Today, timing and teamwork are
the building blocks of success!
SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21) -- Your pri-
orities are in order, but someone may affect
things in such a way that you must do every-
thing in a different order.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21) -- Today
is a very good day to do the thing you’ve been
putting off until just the right moment. The
situation is as favorable as possible.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19) -- The
road you are on likely stretches far beyond
what you can see before you. You have a sense
that time is on your side.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18) --
Maneuverability will count for much today,
but you will likely encounter one threat that
you are better off facing directly.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20) -- A loved one
102 Public Notices
is likely to step in and lighten your burden for
a time today -- and you’ll be able to improve
your situation considerably.
ARIES (March 21-April 19) -- Your
resources may be running low at this time, but
today you should be able to replenish those
that are most important to you right now.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20) -- You’ll be
drawn to the unusual and bizarre today -- and
there’s likely to be plenty of both around you.
You must take certain precautions.
GEMINI (May 21-June 20) -- You’ll be
most fascinated by the little things today, but
at some point you’ll have to step back and take
in the big picture. Duty calls.
CANCER (June 21-July 22) -- By showing
another what’s possible, you’ll be demonstrat-
ing to yourself what you can do if you’ll simply
move forward with confidence.
