Christopher Gorham (“Covert Affairs,”
“Insatiable”) pulls double duty as
director and star of this 2017 comedy
that casts him as Simon Hayes, a bitter
author who finds success with his series
of young adult romance novels written
under the pen name Sally Carmichael.
Paula Marshall, Elizabeth Tulloch,
Felicia Day and Jack McBrayer are also
in the cast.
“Movie: Gladiator”
Maximus (Russell Crowe), a great
Roman general, is marked for death
for refusing to support the new
emperor (Joaquin Phoenix) — who
got the job by killing his own father.
He manages to escape, but the
emperor executes his family. Then,
Maximus is easily captured and sold
into slavery, putting his military
training to good use as a gladiator in
this 2000 adventure.
